Acupuncture

What is veterinary acupuncture?

Veterinary acupuncture is the insertion of very thin, sterile needles into specific points on an animal’s body to stimulate natural healing. It’s a gentle, effective therapy rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and supported by modern science.

Is acupuncture safe for pets?

Yes! When performed by a trained and certified veterinarian, acupuncture is extremely safe. I am certified through CHI University and tailor each treatment to your pet’s specific condition and temperament.

What conditions can acupuncture help treat?

Acupuncture is commonly used for: - Arthritis and joint issues - Back pain or disc disease - Post-surgical recovery - Neurological conditions - Gastrointestinal disorders - Chronic pain and inflammation - Allergies and skin conditions - Stress and anxiety

Will it hurt my pet?

Most pets tolerate acupuncture very well—many even relax or nap during the session. The needles are extremely thin (much thinner than those used for vaccines or blood draws), and the process is typically painless.

How long is a session?

Sessions generally last around 30 minutes. The first appointment may be slightly longer to allow for a full health evaluation and treatment planning.

How many sessions will my pet need?

This depends on the condition being treated. Some pets improve after just 1–2 sessions, while chronic or complex issues often require a series of treatments over several weeks. We’ll work together to create a custom plan based on your pet’s progress.

Is acupuncture covered by pet insurance?

Many pet insurance companies do offer partial reimbursement for acupuncture under alternative or complementary therapies. Be sure to check with your provider for details.

Where are treatments performed?

I offer mobile acupuncture services so your pet can receive care low-stress environment without needing a separate trip.
